The root of resistance is often fear. The fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of upsetting others or even fear of success can all play a part. these fears can leave us frustrated and hard on ourselves, impacting our self-esteem. But remember, these feelings are normal and you’re not alone in your journey.
Strategies to Embrace Change
Let’s explore some practical ways to shift your mindset and behavior.
- Acknowledge your resistance. Understand that resisting change is not a sign of mental illness; rather, it’s a natural reaction as your brain seeks equilibrium.
- Take baby steps. Instead of focusing on a daunting ultimate goal, set small, achievable goals to pave your way to success.
- Balance your life. Don’t let the change process consume you. Balance it with people, activities tor hobbies that bring you joy.
- Prepare for setbacks. Have a backup plan if things don’t work out as you hoped. This reduces stress and keeps you moving forward.
